Visiting Scholar

ISAE-SUPAERO

Simon is a Visiting Scholar in the MLDS Lab at the University of Maryland and a master’s student at ISAE-SUPAERO in Toulouse, France, currently completing his thesis.

After initially specializing in structures and composite materials during his bachelor’s studies, Simon discovered a passion for astrodynamics and machine learning through his master’s research on trajectory optimization under state uncertainty within the CR3BP. At UMD, he investigates real-time training of PINN gravity models embedded within Kalman filters, alongside exploring the use of conformal prediction to map uncertainty and enhance learning efficiency.

Outside the lab, Simon enjoys outdoor adventures, challenging himself in various sports, traveling, and discovering new cuisines. One of his adventures famously left him stranded at a remote Norwegian bus stop during a rainstorm.
