Graduate Research Assistant

University of Maryland

Kruti is a 1st year PhD student in Aerospace Engineering conducting research in Machine Learning for Dynamical Systems Lab under guidance of Dr John Martin. She is interested in research at the intersection of Astrodynamics and Machine Learning to create tools helpful in expanding the reach of onboard autonomy for space systems. She graduated from UMD in 2024 with a BS in Aerospace Engineering during which she also pursued research in Collective Dynamics and Controls Lab. She received aerospace engineering honors for her thesis in collective dynamics modelling and control system design for underwater soft-robots. Besides school, she enjoys outreach activities and mentors middle and high school students for robotic and STEM projects. She also serves as Expansion Chair on Women of Aeronautics and Astronautics (WoAA) international board helping women in aerospace set up communities in their countries and schools all around the world. She enjoys spending her free time reading, practicing yoga and writing poetry in her first language.
